Congratulations if you have decided to take the next step and register for an online course!  Whether you want to graduate, upgrade, or learn for your own interest and health, staff will help you along.  Notice that our online courses are self-paced within the school year.

Our school year runs from September to June, and the centre is closed in July and August. We are sorry, but we are not available to take registrations during the summer months. Please call us after the Labour Day weekend in September, and we will be happy to help you register for your course.

Unless other arrangements are made, all students should aim to finish at least one course by the deadline in June.

Steps to Register

  1. Call or email the centre (or of course come to the centre if you can):
The first step is to call the centre and talk to one of the teachers.  Together you will make a learning plan and determine which course or courses you will need to reach your goals.  The teacher will ask you lots of questions to ensure we can meet your needs.  Phone: 1-866-800-6594 or 204-745-2095
  2. Transcript:
You will need to send a copy of your last high school transcript by email, fax or mail.  Your transcript is necessary for two reasons:  1) Your Manitoba Education and Training (MET) number is needed to add you to the online course.  2) Your previous credits may be used towards your Mature Student Diploma.  If you are a returning student, we should already have your transcript on file.  Fax: 204-745-3823
  3. Registration Form:
Download our registration form.  Save it on your computer and then return the completed form by email.  Registration is completed every school year until you have reached your goals.  (Google Chrome can cause errors, use a different browser to download.)
Download the form here: MAEC Registration Form 2018-2019
    Email to:
  4. Annual Registration Fee:
Regardless of how many courses you complete within the school year, the only cost to you is the annual (non-refundable) registration fee of $35.00.  There is no per course tuition fee.  This fee can be sent by cheque, money order or e-transfer. Cheques or money orders should be made payable to Prairie Rose School Division, and sent by regular mail to Box 2060 Carman, MB ROG OJO. To send your registration fee by e-transfer, please contact us for the information you will need.  In whatever way you send your fee, be sure to indicate your name on the cheque, money order, or e-transfer so that your payment can be matched to your student file.

Remember, we would like you to contact us by phone or email first, and then return your completed registration form.

NOTE: If you are on EI, IA, or a disability program, talk to your case worker.  You may be allowed to further your education while collecting benefits.  You may even increase your benefits!
